Links and Notes for Pre-Friday
Well that and it's a good time to see some interesting things before the weekend starts.
Just hilarious; and so (mostly) very true. All of you who have crappy phones "because you don't think you should pay for a phone" ought to be ashamed of not at least getting a bit more out of your phones. Even if all it is is spreading your aroma around while watching TV ;)
Now here's something that has been buggin me. And I don't even have the Treo on me today.
I like that a company is doing it, focusing on people and all. But, I think that people need to connect with people, not just online with Yahoo or Jaiku-type services, but with an earnest expectation of improving the lives of one another. That's how something like an online community can really take off.
This was the second thing that I had read in the morning that really made me sit and think a while.
- That is one sick photo; also like the site redesign/refreshing where I found the image.Nice to see touchscreens being addressed. But apps need to be designed better, not just interfaces to the apps.
I am getting so close to this mindset that its silly. Recent thoughts have had me thinking about what it would look like for me to take MMM on the road, and then find people who'd sponsor me working and reporting with MMM while performing tech duties. It would mean a good bit of travel, but I think at many levels, it would be putting my actions where my heart is.
Looks like another album worth getting my hands on. Though that dang album art/cover needs to be brightened some :P - Ok, sometimes I wish I could write like him, but I don;t have the experience in the mobile industry, as high up. Some of you read this site and wonder why I think why I do, this article, MMM, all those things point to a paradigm shift in lifestyle, not just computing, that we either flow with, or get run over. Its not an if, its a when.
This was linked at Mobile Opportunity, probably one of the best design articles that I have read. I really like page 5's discussion about what good design will make life feel like around us. Of course, having said that I really should get to making my site a lot more attractive. Maybe I'll toy with that for a skin or something. This site had another article that looked pretty decent too, but I haven't had the time this afternoon/evening to read it. Good design is important, not overly, but very.
There are a few people whom I know would like this phone. Heck, I would if it took SDHC cards and not memory sticks. At this rate, I'll need to find a means to beg Palm to make a Treo with some better touchscreen implementations ;)
Why are strip joints called gentleman's clubs, and then men are told that ladies want a gentleman to wed?
So I haven't checked my email all day. And its not that I didn't notice it either. Felt kinda off not to at least be getting a notification that there was mail. I don't know if I can roll with a device that doesn't keep it easy to say on top of email. Lord knows that I don't have the time to log in to a web mail client during teh day to check it.
